In Memory of Bob Nelson

 

Greetings to all the friends of Bob Nelson

First, we the Nelson family would like to thank all the wonderful people who came out for the volunteer search on Nov 15, 2009. The outpouring of help and support from everyone was huge to our family.

On another note, some of you may be aware that our mother has been battling cancer for the last year. Shortly after the November search, Mom became very sick and had to be hospitalized. It was a long and challenging journey for her and me both. The good news is she is doing well with her recovery and the cancer seems to be in remission. This process took us well into the middle of February 2010. During that time there was no news about Bob’s whereabouts or condition.

In the beginning of March 2010 we received a call from the Lake County Sheriff’s dept saying human remains had been found in a forest preserve that may possibly be Bob’s. Very recently those remains were positively identified as my brother by the Coroner’s office.

The long 5+ months of not knowing what happened to Bob was agonizing to say the least. Now we have the answer and we can begin to bring this to some resolution. Our family prays for Bob and we hope in our hearts he has found peace. We believe he has found God and is resting with Him.
